JPG templates open in virtually any design software — Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Google Slides, and more. If you're using Canva, simply upload the JPG as a background image and design on top of it, then delete the template layer before exporting.

Submit only your finished design file — not the template itself. The template is just a guide to help you set up the correct dimensions, bleed, and safe zone. Your final upload should be a clean PDF Print, PNG, or JPG with your artwork only.

The Red Line = Cut Line — this is exactly where the finished product will be cut during production. Your background colors and full-bleed images should extend past this line into the outer bleed area. Never place important content close to the red line — it may get trimmed.

The Blue Line = Safety Line — anything that is not getting cut must be inside this blue line. This includes your text, logo, phone number, website, and any other important content. The area between the blue and red lines is a risk zone — slight cutting shifts during production can affect content placed there.

The bleed area is the space between the red cut line and the outer edge of the template. Standard bleed is 0.125" total (0.0625" on each side). Extending your background into this area prevents white gaps from appearing on the edges of your product after cutting. If you don't include bleed, you'll likely see thin white edges on one or more sides of your finished product. Always fill the bleed area with your background color or image.

Your file must be a minimum of 300 DPI at the final print size. Images from websites or social media are typically 72–96 DPI and will appear blurry when printed. Always use original high-resolution photos or vector graphics. For large format products like banners, yard signs, and feather flags, 100–150 DPI at full size is acceptable because they are viewed from a distance.

Always use CMYK for print. Screens display colors in RGB, but printers use CMYK. If you submit an RGB file, colors may shift slightly when converted for printing. In Canva, select CMYK under Color Profile when downloading your PDF Print file. In Adobe software, set your document to CMYK before you start designing.

We accept three file types: PDF Print (recommended) — preserves fonts, colors, bleed marks, and vector elements. Best results for all products. JPG — accepted at 300 DPI minimum. Slight quality loss from compression. PNG — accepted at 300 DPI minimum. No compression loss, better than JPG for text-heavy designs. We do not accept Word documents, PowerPoint files, or screenshots. These are not print-ready formats.

Upload the JPG template in Canva → click Use in a new design → select Custom Size. Enter the "With Bleed" dimensions from your template (for example, 3.625" × 2.125" for a standard business card). Set units to inches → click Create New Design. Important: always use the bleed size — not the finished size.

After creating your document, duplicate the page immediately before adding any design elements. This gives you the template guides on both Page 1 (front) and Page 2 (back). Design each side separately. When finished, delete the template layer on both pages and extend the background to the outer edge on both sides.

Go to Share → Download and follow these settings: File type: PDF Print (not PDF Standard) Enable: Flatten PDF Color Profile: CMYK If you have a front and back design, download them separately. Select Page 1 only → download. Then select Page 2 only → download. Upload both files at checkout.

Screens display in RGB — a light-based color system that produces vivid, bright colors. Printers use CMYK — an ink-based system where some vibrant RGB colors cannot be exactly reproduced. To minimize color shifts: always export in CMYK from Canva, avoid neon or overly saturated colors, and use our template to ensure your design is set up correctly. Slight variation between screen and print is normal and not considered a defect.

Every file goes through a review by our team before production begins. We check resolution, bleed area, safety line margins, and overall print readiness. This typically takes 1 business day. The most common issues we catch during file review: Background not extended into the bleed area — causes white edges after cutting Text or logos placed outside the blue safety line — risk of being trimmed Low resolution images — appear blurry when printed Template guide layer not deleted — guides appear in the final print File submitted as RGB instead of CMYK — color shift during printing Wrong canvas size used — finished size instead of bleed size Using our template and following the Canva guide above eliminates most of these issues.
